Mini Gaiwan Tea Set

• Green Tea: Gaiwans are excellent for brewing delicate green teas such as our Blissful Buddha Tea. Use lower water temperatures and shorter steeping times to preserve the tea's delicate flavors.

• Oolong Tea: Gaiwans are particularly well-suited for brewing oolong teas like our BoaZhong Oolong tea. Experiment with different steeping times to bring out the complex flavors of the oolong leaves.

• White Tea: Gaiwans can also be used to brew white teas such as our Champoganay. Use slightly hotter water temperatures and longer steeping times to extract the subtle sweetness and floral notes of white tea.

• Pu-erh Tea: Gaiwans are commonly used for brewing pu-erh teas, both raw (sheng) and ripe (shou). Pu-erh teas benefit from multiple short infusions, allowing you to enjoy the evolving flavors of the tea with each steep.

How to Use a Gaiwan:

• Prepare Your Tea Leaves: Measure out the desired amount of tea leaves for your gaiwan. Typically, 2-3 grams of tea leaves per 100ml of water is a good starting point.

• Preheat the Gaiwan: Pour hot water into the gaiwan and swirl it around to warm the vessel. Pour out the water once the gaiwan is sufficiently heated.

• Add Tea Leaves: Place the measured tea leaves into the warmed gaiwan.

• Add Hot Water: Pour hot water over the tea leaves, ensuring that the water covers the leaves completely.

• Steep the Tea: Cover the gaiwan with the lid and let the tea steep for the appropriate amount of time. Steeping times vary depending on the type of tea you're using.

• Pour and Enjoy: Once the tea has steeped, hold the lid of the gaiwan in place with your thumb and carefully tilt the gaiwan to pour the tea into your cups. Serve and enjoy your freshly brewed tea!
